25 Mar 2009Avery had her first checkup yeaterday. Her weght is on its way back up. She now tips the scales at 5 lbs, 15 oz. The doctor wants to see her again next week, and wants her to be above her birth weight.

21 Mar 2009This morning the doctors came in and asked Missy how she was feeling. She said she feels good. They said unless you feel the need to stay another day, you can go home today. We packed everything up, got Avery checked out and got the ok to leave. We are at home!

21 Mar 2009Avery was weighed this evening, she is down to 5 lbs, 13 oz. She has lost 5% of her birth weight. The nurses said they are not concerend until it hits 10%. Avery is eating every 3 hours and is taking close to the maximum. Her weight should start going back up fast.

20 Mar 2009Avery did good last night, and mom even got some sleep. The nurses did take Avery back to the nursery for a little while to suction out some more guck (medical term). She is back with mom this morning.

19 Mar 2009Avery is back in the room with Missy. They took her off the heat lamp and she is holding her body temperature. They gave her a bath and took measurements. Her head is 13″ and she is 20″ long. She will stay with Missy in the room until we come home on Sunday.

19 Mar 2009Avery Inez Pope was born at 11:58am. Weight is 6 lb 5 oz. Mom and Avery are doing great.
