Riley woke up this morning, saw the snow, ran to the window and said “oh my goodness, it happened!” She was really excited. We decided to jump in the car and head over to Perfect North Slopes and take her tubing. She loved it. We pick a good day to go for her first time, since with the new snow the tubing lanes were really slow. We did both slides including the big lanes.

28 Nov 2009We had a cold front come through, all week is was in the 80’s, today was windy and high 60’s. Still warmer than home! We went to beach one last time. Riley wanted some shells and Avery put her feet in the sand one last time.

Today we went to the beach, it is walking distance from the house. Riley was a little unsure at first about walking in the sand. 5 minutes later she was throwing it and looking for shells. Avery loved watching the waves.

This year we are taking Thanksgiving on the road. We are in Marco Island, Florida for the week. Steve, his parents and the girls went down on Saturday. Missy is coming on Tuesday. We will be here through Saturday. Jeff & Laura are here for the first part of the week, they both have to fly on turkey day.
The first few days have been perfect, low 80’s and sunny, the girls like being back in shorts. The house has a pool so every evening Riley put on her “suit-suit” and goes swimming.
Halloween

Riley loves Halloween, she was out trick-or-treating for the full 2 hours. Avery made it to about a dozen houses and realized she couldn’t eat the candy, so she was done.
Riley turns 2!

Riley turned 2 on Thursday. She took cupcakes to daycare to celebrate with her classmates. On Saturday we had the family over and Riley got an Elmo cupcake. Anything Elmo or Mickey Mouse is her favorite.
Avery 6 Month Checkup

22 Sep 2009Avery had her 6 month checkup. Here are the stats:
Weight 15.14 pounds - 50% on growth chart
Head 16.75 - 50% on growth chart
Length - 27 - 90% on growth chart
She got 4 shots and 1 oral vaccine.

Ok I have been bad about updates, so I’m going to try and do a weekly picture. In this edition Avery is working on sitting up.
The girls are back to school - Missy teaching and Riley & Avery at Little Red. Avery is the “happiest, easy-going baby” according to her teacher. Riley is still adjusting to the early morning wake-up call, but getting better.
